Propori, collective conjurers of composition, stranded in the cracks of time.
Propori – a tapestry of rhythm, rhyme and reason; reflecting and deflecting from the unreal world they inhabit.
A revealing of the masked inner voices – hidden from today’s Backwardian beast.
Their sound is a distinctive psychedelic folk guitar style, infused with a Latin/Spanish/Eastern touch with deep, burgeoning lyrics that hide nothing from the listener. At times it’s like the soundtrack to a Béla Tarr or David Lynch movie that has yet to be made.
Stunningly beautiful and unique music from the hills of Northern England; the music of Proporí is designed around an energy that is untouchable, yet undeniably present.
“Proporí are a truly magical and unique musical experience, with spellbinding vocals, enigmatic lyrics and superb instrumentation. I can’t stop listening to their album” – Mark Corrin – Salford City Radio 94.4 FM
Bitter Harvest
Formed in 1987 in Blackburn and Darwen, by singer/guitarist Paul Walmsley and bassist Shaun McAllister, Bitter Harvest were categorised early on as a New Wave/Punk band – likened to Husker Du and Sugar. As time went on however and they were joined by drummer Owen Brindle and lead guitarist Stephen Holt, their sound became their own and harder to pigeonhole leading the L.E.T. to opine in the early 90s that “they were playing Grunge before it was even called Grunge”.
Hard-edged, though melodic songs that veer from worldly politics to personal observations on the world is Bitter Harvest’s direction. Their group name was chosen to signify the fact that all of the personnel in the band came from the harsh realities of the working class streets they grew up on and reached away from to make their music.
Playing consistently from 1988-1999, the group has since had long breaks from performing together due to other projects and life in general. On 7th March at Sunbird Records, they reunite for what may be the final time to come “home” once more.
